ORANGE COUNTY, FL (September 5, 2025) – “The Court’s decision today to deny bond for Anthony Shea reflects the seriousness of the charges he faces. Beyond the legal proceedings, this case is about honoring the life of a woman who dedicated herself to protecting others. This was a tragic loss of life that has deeply impacted the law enforcement community, as well as our circuit. We continue to extend our deepest condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of the victim during this painful time. Our office remains steadfast in ensuring that her service, her sacrifice, and her memory are met with the justice they deserve.”
OSCEOLA COUNTY (July 21, 2025) — Following today’s sentencing of the individual responsible for the tragic murder of 13-year-old Madeline Soto, State Attorney Monique Worrell issued the following statement. The accused received 21 concurrent life sentences and waived all rights to appeal — an outcome reached in close consultation with the Soto family.
ORLANDO, FL. – On Thursday, May 8th, an Orlando man was sentenced to 50 years in the Department of Corrections with a 25-year mandatory minimum sentence following a conviction for his involvement in a road rage incident and shooting into an occupied vehicle on East Colonial Drive in January 2024. The individual fired multiple shots at the victim after the victim allegedly cut him off in morning traffic. One of the shots struck the victim in the head, killing him. The individual's actions endangered innocent lives and brought trauma to an entire family.
