Community Education Academy
Program Description
The SAO 9 Community Education Academy is a public initiative created by the Office of the State Attorney for the Ninth Judicial Circuit to inform, empower, and engage the citizens we serve. This online platform serves as a central hub for individuals and families seeking to better understand the criminal justice system and how it impacts our community. Through this Academy, visitors can learn about the various stages of a criminal case—from arrest to resolution—as well as the types of offenses commonly seen in our courts.
The site also provides guidance on what to expect during the legal process, what rights and responsibilities individuals have, and what options may be available for rehabilitation, support, or diversion. The Community Education Academy highlights local programs, services, and resources that can assist people in making positive changes—whether they are directly involved in the system or supporting a loved one who is. Our goal is to reduce recidivism, promote transparency, and build stronger, more informed communities through education and access. We believe that when people understand how the system works and where to turn for help, they are better equipped to make meaningful choices that lead to long-term success.
The SAO 9 Community Education Academy is here to support that journey—because informed communities are safer, healthier, and more resilient.
