We continue to extend our deepest condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of the victim during this painful time. OSCEOLA COUNTY (July 21, 2025) — Following today’s sentencing of the individual responsible for the tragic murder of 13-year-old Madeline Soto, State Attorney Monique Worrell issued the following statement. The accused received 21 concurrent life sentences and waived all rights to appeal — an outcome reached in close consultation with the Soto family.
ORLANDO, FL. – On Thursday, May 8th, an Orlando man was sentenced to 50 years in the Department of Corrections with a 25-year mandatory minimum sentence following a conviction for his involvement in a road rage incident and shooting into an occupied vehicle on East Colonial Drive in January 2024. The individual fired multiple shots at the victim after the victim allegedly cut him off in morning traffic. One of the shots struck the victim in the head, killing him. The individual's actions endangered innocent lives and brought trauma to an entire family.
