State Attorney Monique Worrell Announces Series of Community Townhall Meetings for the Ninth Judicial Circuit
The townhalls will be held quarterly at various locations across Orange and Osceola Counties.
ORLANDO, FL, March 25, 2022 — State Attorney Monique H. Worrell and the Ninth Judicial Circuit’s Community Engagement team will host the first of a series of community townhall meetings on Tuesday, March 29th at 6:00pm. This community townhall will be held at The Kingdom Church located at 800 N. Pine Hills Road in Orlando.
“One of my administration’s top priorities is to bridge the gap between Central Florida residents and the criminal legal system,” said State Attorney Worrell. “Reimagining public safety in the Ninth Judicial Circuit requires innovation and collaborative effort. This goal can best be achieved with input from community members and our community partners.”
The Community Engagement team looks forward to educating communities on the criminal legal system, actively engaging youth and young adults, and empowering victims and witnesses of crime to work with law enforcement. Additionally, the team looks forward to addressing its role in addressing racial inequity in the criminal legal system, and increasing transparency in the Ninth Judicial Circuit.
Future community townhalls will be held once a quarter in various locations in Orange and Osceola counties. Upcoming townhalls in Orange County are set for July 26th and November 15th. Osceola County townhall dates include April 5th, August 2nd and December 6th. Location details for future townhalls are forthcoming.
“These townhalls will allow me and my Community Engagement team to connect with residents across Orange and Osceola counties to hear their concerns, answer their questions and solicit their feedback on how our office can better serve them.”
Registration is required for attendance. Residents can register for the March 29th townhall at bit.ly/SAO9MarchTownhall.
