The Ninth Judicial Circuit’s State Attorney’s Office Mourns the Loss of Assistant State Attorney Pamela “Pam” Davis
Pam was not only a dedicated and respected prosecutor, she was a loving friend, and an amazing mom to her son, Brandon. She will be forever missed.
ORANGE COUNTY (February 6, 2023) — It is with profound sadness and with a broken heart we announce the passing of Assistant State Attorney Pamela G. Davis on Sunday, February 5, 2023.
Since beginning her career as a prosecutor in the Ninth Judicial Circuit’s State Attorney’s Office on August 1, 1991, Pam has successfully litigated many sex crimes, domestic violence, human trafficking, and homicide trials. Pam was the first Human Trafficking prosecutor in the Circuit, the first Black female Sex Crimes and Homicide prosecutor in the Circuit, as well as one of the first few Black supervisors in our office.
Reflecting on Pam’s passing, State Attorney Worrell remarked: “I am deeply saddened to hear of Pam’s passing. I had the pleasure and opportunity to know Pam outside of work. We attended the same church for a while, and our sons ran track together. Pam was always a happy and positive person. We often talked about our roles as busy mothers. I remember seeing her as a prosecutor when I first began my career as a public defender. She was always so kind and professional. Her death is a great loss not only to our office, but to this community.”
Beyond her reputation as a valiant trial attorney, Pam’s colleagues and family members remember her as someone who was a huge Florida State Football fan, a woman who loved spending time with and supporting her son’s athletic endeavors, and one who loves to travel and cruise with friends, while absolutely embracing the work that she loved. She believed in this office, as well as its potential. She cared about the victims and this community deeply. She brought joy, laughter, and a sincere love to all who knew and loved her.
With more than 30 years of service, Pam served her community and its citizens well. Her grieving family, extended work family, and many friends and loved ones are missing her kind and gentle spirit, and her bright, infectious smile.
In the office and in this community, she will be remembered for her mentorship of young Assistant State Attorneys, as well as for her zealous advocacy of victims. Her legacy will live on in all of the attorneys who were so fortunate to have gotten the opportunity to learn from and work with her.
Pam Davis was a mother, a friend, a legal titan, and is someone this office will never forget. Our deepest condolences go out to the Davis family during this difficult time.
A Celebration of Pam’s Life is forthcoming.
