Statement from State Attorney Monique Worrell On The Conviction of Doujon Griffiths
ORANGE COUNTY, FL (October 2, 2026) — On Thursday, October 1, 2026, an Orange County jury convicted Doujon Griffiths on all counts for the senseless murders of Massania Malcom and her 1-year-old daughter, Jordania, and for the shooting of Ms. Malcom’s boyfriend. When Griffiths had nowhere to go, Ms. Malcom and her boyfriend opened their home to him. He repaid that kindness with unspeakable violence and then left a baby to die.
Now, a family has been left to grieve two lives taken far too soon, one of them who just learned to take her first steps into the world. My heart is with the family and loved ones of Massania and Jordania. No verdict can restore what was taken from them, but I hope this outcome brings them some measure of justice and peace.
I also want to recognize the courage of the survivor. Despite enduring an unimaginable trauma, his account of that morning was vital to this case and to ensuring the person responsible was held accountable.
I am grateful to the law enforcement officers and investigators who worked on this case with care and dedication, and to the prosecutors in my office who presented the evidence and fought relentlessly for Massania and Jordania. Their work made this verdict possible.
Griffiths faces a sentence of life in prison. Sentencing is scheduled for Nov. 16.
