ORLANDO, FL – An Orlando jury returned a conviction yesterday in a road rage incident of Second-Degree Murder and Shooting into an Occupied Vehicle stemming from an incident on East Colonial Drive in January 2024. The Defendant fired multiple shots at the victim after the victim allegedly cut him off in morning traffic. There were multiple vehicles in the area at the time of shooting. In less than a minute after the road rage incident began, one man is dead, and multiple lives are changed forever. Gun violence has no place in our community and will not be tolerated. Gun violence prevention is a key to making our community a safer place for all. Our community must make serious investments in gun violence prevention based on research and evidence about what works. The Office of the State Attorney is committed to the prevention and prosecution of gun violence offenses that have such a devastating impact on our community.
If you encounter a road rage situation, remove yourself from the incident and contact law enforcement. Do not escalate the situation or take matters into your own hands. A split-second decision can have a profound impact on the lives of countless members of our community.
