An Orange County jury recently found Harold McKinney, 50, of Orlando, guilty of Attempted Second-Degree Murder, Aggravated Battery with a Deadly Weapon, and other charges. McKinney was sentenced to 15 years in the Department of Corrections as a Prison Release Reoffender.
Assistant State Attorney Valencia Poitier prosecuted the case.
Evidence shows that in November 2014 McKinney broke into the home of a former girlfriend and attacked her and one of her friends with a knife. The jury also convicted McKinney of Trespass and Battery (Domestic Violence).
In addition to his 15-year sentence, McKinney was ordered to pay court costs and to have no contact with the victims.
